Åsa Broman, COS Customer Success Director
Tell us a little bit about yourself – who are you, and what is your background?

Hi, I am Åsa Broman. As you may guess from the strange letter in my name, I am Swedish, but  I currently live with my family in Palo Alto, California. I lived and worked in the Bay Area about 10 years ago as well, and the US feels like a second home, so it feels great to be back! For almost 25 years, I have worked in telcos and other infrastructure-related companies in a wide range of roles. The common denominator for those roles has been to connect people and bridge the gaps where teams or companies have different perspectives or competences. And no matter what my title has been, I have always been close to the customer. 

What caught your interest in COS Systems?

I was part of the big broadband and fiber rollout in Sweden, where the majority of the citizens got fiber access 10-20 years ago. Those investments have been crucial to reaching equal Internet access for everyone, including the possibility to take part in the digital transformation in all aspects of society. COS delivers a unique tool that can make this infrastructure improvement happen a lot faster and providing a better customer experience. With the current explosion of fiber rollouts in the US, I couldn’t resist joining the ride.

What are your goals for the coming months?

Full speed ahead – I am getting to know our customers through a number of implementation projects that we are running, and at the same time, getting familiar with the product and its (many) features. I am also looking forward to meeting my colleagues. We are spread out on three continents to support our customers in the best possible way.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love traveling. Many years ago, before I started a family, I went on several backpacking trips on a shoestring around the world. During those travels, I experienced many odd and memorable situations. On our honeymoon, we were backpacking in India and went on a camel safari in the desert. The starry sky was supposed to be amazing and super romantic. This particular night, it got overcast and ended up pouring for the first time in four years. Traveling is a lot like life in general – unexpected things happen that totally can change the path you anticipated from the beginning. This actually makes both living, and traveling, an exciting adventure.

Tell us a little bit about yourself – who are you, and what is your background?

Hola! I am Pablo Perez, son of Mexican immigrants, brother to 3 siblings, father to 3 of the most beautiful humans, and partner to an amazing woman. I live in Wisconsin. Smell our dairy air! My professional background goes back to college. I worked for a company that built custom control panels, and they encouraged me to pursue electrical engineering. That led me on a 15-year journey traveling around the world designing and implementing communications networks.

What caught your interest in COS Systems?

The first thing that captivated me was the people. Their warmth and shared belief in leveraging communication for a better world resonated deeply with me. While FTTH and the COS solution are new territory, I see our aligned goals driving positive change. The potential in the USA market is immense, and COS’s forward-thinking mindset reinforces this belief. I wanted to be part of this journey, so I hopped on board.

What are your goals for the coming months?

I’m passionate about supporting our team, contributing innovative ideas, and shouldering my workload while mastering our system, all to ensure seamless client onboarding. Plus, I’m dedicated to building meaningful connections with everyone. Let’s create success together!

Tell us a little bit about yourself – who are you, and what is your background?

Hi! I’m Marcus Kitchens. I started my career as a GIS Analyst for a Houston, TX based firm after graduating college and interning @ Esri. After working in Houston for two years, I joined NISC as a MapWise Support Specialist. At NISC, I helped their members solve any mapping questions/concerns that they had. While @ NISC, I focused on the Telecom side of things. I spent three years @ NISC before I had the opportunity to work for Esri as an Account Manager for Local Government out of the St. Louis Regional Office. In this role @ Esri, I helped cities/counties (under 50k in population) in Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Kentucky modernize their ArcGIS platform. I worked in this role @ Esri for (almost) 5 years before joining COS Systems as a Senior Sales Executive. I’m ecstatic to be a part of this great team @ COS Systems and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

What caught your interest in COS Systems?

COS’ end-to-end-automation approach is what ‘caught my interest.’ I’m a big fan of automation when it comes to helping people with their work. The GREAT team spirit and the dedication to customers at COS Systems piqued my curiosity, too. I love working with a fun team dedicated to helping their customers. So – COS Systems was a no-brainer. The chance of participating in Fika may have played a role, too 😉 

What are your goals for the coming months?

To learn as much as possible about how our software works and how our software can help deliver services to the community! Also, I look forward to meeting my COS Systems colleagues and getting to know them.

Tell us fun facts about yourself.

I can play the piano! I have 2 long-haired dachshunds that are a bundle of cuteness, but both of them keep me busy with their shenanigans. I LOVE riding bikes whether it’s mountain biking, gravel biking, road biking, or even an exercise bike! I love it all when it comes to biking. One of my dreams is to follow the Tour de France in person. I’ve been watching it on TV for 20+ years with my dad. I would love to see it in real life one day.

Meet Daniella Edelsvärd, our newest team member. Daniella has many years of experience in the tech industry and knows all about digitalizing, optimizing, and managing processes. From now on, she will put her experience to use in our Customer Success Team and support customers on their journey from onboarding to billing their subscribers.

I have vast experience in the high-tech sector. I’ve been working at several global companies helping customers simplify and improve their processes through digitalization.

What caught your interest in COS Systems?

I was amazed by COS‘ products and their client-focused solutions. And how a company from northern Sweden can improve the digital infrastructure on a global scale.

What are your goals for the coming months?

Learn as much as possible about the software and get to know our customers and all my colleagues of course.

Interview with Sajan Parikh

I love building software and tools that help companies grow efficiently, instead of just adding more staff to fix problems.

Throughout my career, I’ve analyzed and brought together all kinds of teams – from customer support and billing to sales, network engineering, and management. This wide-ranging experience has given me a unique viewpoint, which I’ve used to design processes that use software, systems, and network know-how.

As an engineer and coder, I love building software and tools that help companies grow efficiently, instead of just adding more staff to fix problems. I’m really good at connecting different teams and making technical plans to improve the way things work as a company gets bigger. My strength isn’t in making PowerPoint presentations or writing articles – I’m all about hands-on work, playing with new tech, and seeing the results of my work in real time.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the telecom industry, watching how things have changed from when local telecoms and electric coops first got into broadband to now, when billions of dollars are being invested worldwide to make sure everyone can connect to the internet.

When I was thinking about what to do next, COS Systems really stood out to me. I’ve always admired people like Isak, Mikael, Björn and others for their ability to look beyond what’s happening right now and imagine what the future could be. So, when the chance to join this forward-thinking team came up, I jumped at it.

Now that I’m at COS, my first goal is to earn the trust of our clients, potential clients, and partners in the Americas. I want to help our clients understand their own software setups and where COS might fit in. I’m hoping to become a go-to person for advice on how different parts of a telecom company can work together and how that can shape the products we’re making at COS.

If you’re into the nitty-gritty of tech, want to talk about financial models, or brainstorm how your team – whether they’re field technicians, sales reps, network engineers, or especially your customers – can work better together, I’d love to chat. Whether we’re talking about COS System’s Business Engine product or just geeking out in general, I’m always up for a good conversation. A big part of what I do involves understanding how data moves through your organization, and having a smart, central command center is key – and that’s a role that COS System’s Business Engine often fits perfectly.

Interview with Intira Wongla

This is a perfect opportunity to work with what I am passionate about – digital marketing and branding

We are very excited to have Intira join our team! As Digital Marketing Coordinator she will support us with everything from improving our digital presence, business analysis and creating an even better customer experience. We’re extra proud to have hired a local star and as a student employee, Intira will work about 15h a week alongside finishing her studies. We think this is a real win-win situation giving Intira the chance to apply what she knows in practice and us to train and learn from a student with the latest insights.

Tell us a little about yourself – who are you and what is your background?

I’m an outgoing student pursuing a Master of Business and Economics, specializing in business administration. I studied in England and worked as an SEO intern at a media agency in Stockholm. I also have experience in Customer Service at IKEA and currently serve as a Customer Relationship Manager in the Uniaden project team. I’m driven, result-oriented, and excited for new challenges in digital marketing.

What caught your interest in COS Systems?

COS’ innovative approach to broadband solutions caught my attention. Their focus on advanced software for network management and its potential to revolutionize the FTTH industry is truly inspiring. Contributing to such a forward-thinking company is truly exciting.

Why do you want to work as a student employee? 

Working as a student employee allows me to pursue my passion for digital marketing and branding. While I’ve already specialized in this field, working in-house and being involved in the entire journey is even more fulfilling.

What are you going to focus on over the summer?

Throughout the summer, I’ll primarily focus on improving COS Systems‘ digital presence. This involves developing and optimizing website content, conducting market research, and analyzing key performance indicators.
